That is a really good question Happy. So many people are concerned about having white teeth. What is the best thing to use to get white teeth? How can my teeth be whiter? My teeth are just not white enough what can I do? These questions have be asked many times in many different ways. Few seem to wonder what they have to do to keep their teeth white.
In order to help keep your teeth white one may want to make a life style change. Some people may find that hard to do. But without making changes to why your teeth get stain in the first place, about the only thing you may be able to do is to keep using products that will continue whitening your teeth. However, the long term effects of doing so may not be good for your teeth.
Instead simple life style changes may be more helpful and will be kind to your teeth.
1) Stop drinking sustainable drinks like coffee, tee soda. If you find you can not or do not want to stop. Then try to at least drink these types of drink though straws. So that they will have less contact with your teeth.
2) It is pretty clear that smoking or chewing will stain your teeth. Telling a person to stop is easy said then done. If stopping is not what you intend on doing and you still want to try to keep your teeth white. Then you may want brush your teeth right after you are done. This may not be practicable for some people depending on how much they smoke and or chew in a day. In that case if you can not quit, you might just have to come to terms with no so white teeth.
3) There are also foods one can eat that may stain your teeth, such as jellies or some pies. I would also suggest to brush as soon as possible when eating these types of food.
4)Extremely hot or cold liquids may aloud your teeth to be open to stains. Temperature change causes teeth to expand and contract, allowing stains to penetrate your teeth. Not much you can do here but just keep it in mind.
5) Acidic foods like some fruit can cause stains because they can wear down the enamel that protects your teeth. So take care when drinking juice (though a straw) or eating fruits.
One should also know their natural color of their teeth. Teeth come in many shades of white. What may be white to you may not be your natural tooth color. In fact for some people to have extremely white teeth can make their teeth look big and or fake. Try talking to your dentist and or cosmetic dentist. To find out what the right shade of white will look best for you.
