Braces Help – I Look Ugly
I just got metal braces with color bands and I look ugly
I am so upset. Can I get these stupid metal braces off and have them replace with clear ceramic ones? I had no clue that they would look so bad. If I could I would take them off myself but I know that I can not do that without maybe hurting my teeth.

Lina, braces are not meant to be a fashion statement. Get over how they look on you . Who cares? You got braces to fix some sort of dental issues with your teeth.
It is what braces do for you, and not how they make you look that is important. Stay focus on how nice your teeth will look latter.

Are you a minor? If so, is the choice to do this change really up to you? Talk things out with your parents. Having braces are no fun either way you go. Some people complain about the clear ceramic one making their teeth look even dirtier. Since you can see all the food that may be stuck to them.
What will you do if you decide that you do not like them either? I would advise to try and adjust to what you have in currently. Ceramic braces are more expensive and may not be covered by insurance.

Lina, if you are an adult paying for your own braces. Talk over your issues with your orthodontic dentist. Your orthodontic dentist maybe able to remove the metal braces and put on the clear ones if you like them to.
However, I am sure you will be charged for doing so. There are many factors to take into a count in order to give you a more direct answer.
Things such as: Do you have dental insurance? If so, will they still pay for you to make this kind of change? If you do not know you need to find out.
Can you even have ceramic braces? Did you talk to the dentist to find out if that is something you can have? Will ceramic braces fix your teeth issue just as well as the metal one do?
These are all good questions to ask yourself before doing anything rash. You may just be feeling bad because the braces are new to you. Give yourself some time to adjust. See how you feel then address these concerns with your dentist at your next appointment.

Have you looked into the pros and cons of clear ceramic braces? I have taken some time to list a few.
Pros that I could find: They look a lot nicer. They are clear so they are less noticeable. Ceramic braces are more comfortable than metal braces and are very strong.
Cons that I could find: more expensive, they are not always covered by insurance. Treatments may take longer using ceramic braces. They are a bit larger then metal braces and
they can not be used in all cases
Talk over these issues with your dentist to see if changing really makes for good dental health sense.
