Can the American Dental Association help me
I have been having a really bad problems with the dentist I went to for a root canal. He did a really bad job and now my tooth hurts more then it did before I went to him. I thought when you had a root canal done your tooth root was taken out so that there should not be any pain. I am really up set and I told the dental office that they did a bad job and that I want my money back since I am going to have to go to another dentist to have it done right.
I was told no. That I could make another appointment of have them re look at the tooth but that they would not give me my money back. Why would I want to go back to a dentist that does not know what they are doing? I want to complain to someone higher up but do not have dental insurance so I thought I could complain to the ADA and have them help me. Will the ADA help me get back my money if this dentist is a part of them?

I do not think that the ADA will help you get your money back. I do not even think they take complaints either. I think you would make or log a complaint to the American Dental Board.
However, speaking only my opinion I think that you should go back to the same dentist. They are willing to look at the problem you currently have for free to determine if it is something they need to re address or if the issue is new. At least go that far since it will not cost you anything and see where you stand with the first dental office.

I would suggest working things out with the dentist. Seems like they are willing to fix any problems that you are having with the root canal work they did.
If you go to another dentist for a second opinion I would think that cost would be on you. You could try and sue if that is what you want but in the end you more then likely would be out more money and time.
