Dental opinions, Thinking about going to a dental schoold for my dental services.
My family is living on a very fixed income right now and money is very tight. That said I do not want my family oral health to suffer do to our lack of extra income. My job offers me good health thank goodness but no dental. Both my wife and I have not seen the dentist in over a year but my daughter is due for her six month check up and I do not want her to go without.
I have be thinking of taking her to the dental school that is here in TX by us. I called and they said they have no problems with doing dental work on a five year old. They would be much cheaper then going to a regular dentist however my fear is that I am not getting good dental work done. It worries me that they may mess up or not catch something. Has anyone ever had their dental work done by a dental school? If so how was your experience? Would you go back again?

Dental schools are a good place to go when you do not have the money for a general dentist. Keep in mind that although they are student they still have their teachers that will make sure they are doing things correctly.
Try it and see how you feel about it. If you do not like it then try to look for a dental clinic in your area

Any dentist can make mistakes whether you go to a regular dentist on one that works in a dental school and or dental clinic.
There is nothing wrong with going to a dental school if it help you to better afford seeing a dentist. The important part is that you are taking care of your child teeth and oral health.
