Dental Insurance for New or Replacement Dentures.
Dental Insurance for New or Replacement Dentures. There are plenty of dental insurance plans that will cover dentures, but you need to plan ahead. Many but not all dental insurance plans have waiting periods from 6-18 months. As an example: Replacing teeth with dentures is classified as major dental services. The average benefit is 50% co-insurance for your dentures. Make note when you are replacing dentures the dental company may required proof that you had the prior dentures for X amount of years before providing coverages for new dentures make sure you read the plan terms and conditions on this.
Another dental plan type you may want to review when getting new dentures or replacing old dentures would be a dental discount plans. Dental discount plan plans are a low cost dental plan that do not have waiting periods or restrictions on how long you may have had prior dentures. You will get the saving available to you under the plan. They normally start within the next business day of your online enrollment. .Remember discount dental plans are not insurance dental plan.

Thanks this post helped me out a great deal. I was trying to find a dental insurance plan to help with the cost of my mom dentures. She needed dentures but had missing teeth. The few plans I found where just like you said had long waiting periods and in the end only covered 50 percent of the cost.
By the time the waiting periods came up I would have already paid more the 50 percent of the cost of having new dentures just for the plan. I did not see any really saving in these types of plans at least for my mom needs.
After reading what you wrote I did check out your dental discount plan and found a dentist in the Careington dental plan that was offering the savings and was willing to offer me a payment of of six monthly payments this was more then any of the other dentist would do and I was quite happy. Thanks again for providing the information I needed to help my mom get new teeth =D

I took out full PPO dental insurance for my partner over 3 1/2 years ago knowing that he will be needing full dentures. 67.00 a month
Because of only a maximum allowance of 1,500.00 per year, he has to wait for his insurance to roll over in March 1, 2018. He had to pay 1000.00 for all his extractions. His last two teeth will be pulled next week
The plan pays $400 each 5130 & 5140 Immediate upper and lower dentures.
Because he has to wait, they are denying him the full 800.00 dollar benefit . He pays 807.00 per year 2400.00 and they are trying not to pay the maximum benefit.
Any Suggestions?? Very disappointed with dental insurance
