Dental Care and Baby’s First Steps to a Healthy Mouth
You are your child’s first teacher. Teaching your child good dental and oral health care starts with you. It is advise that a child should see a dentist no later then their first birthday. But even before that you are the one taking care of your baby teeth and gums.
As your child gets older start showing them the correct way to brush their teeth. Keeping it fun will make the process an easy one for you and your child. Make sure you are flossing your child teeth daily until they are also old enough to floss correctly on their own.
Try to teach by example. If you show your children how you brush and floss daily and make it a family thing to do together they more likely want to continue. A dentist only see your child around twice a year. You however are their for your child daily 24/7. Which make you the best person to help them learn proper dental care habits from the start.
