Lumineers, what are they for?
I hear people talk about veneers and lumineers. I know what veneers are but what are lumineers?

With regards to Veneers: Veneers required that the cosmetic dentist grind your tooth down and remove a significant amount enamel. This is done in order for the veneer to adhere to your tooth. Just like you would do when putting on fake nails. Keep in mind that there is no changing your mind once they are put on you can not have them removed. Veneers are thicker and are more durable.
In regards to Lumineers, they are a very thin and require little to no removal of your enamel. With that being said you also can remove them if necessary. However to process to do so is not easy and can be costly. Since they are thin they also can chip and crack and have less durability then veneers.
The designing factor between the two would be what you feel would be best for you. Talk over your choices with your cosmetic dentist. Cost wise they run around the same so do your homework on both. Knowing the good and bads about both will help you with your final decision.
