Dentures, can they be adjusted at the dentist office?
I just got top dentures about three weeks ago, and now they do not seem to me as if they fit right. Is this normal ? Will I have to have them ship out to be adjusted or can they fix it at the dentist office? I am hoping they can just fix them at the dental office because I would hate to have to go without teeth for who know how long. Anyone have this problem. This is all new to me.

I would think that you should be able to get the adjustment done at your dentist office. However, call and find out.

My friend just got her dentures as well. Like you. they did not seem to fit her either. In fact they hurt her when she wore them. Her dentist adjusted them right in the office. He said it is very common that new dentures need adjusting since it will take a while for your mouth to adjust to having them.
I would think that your dentist should also be able to adjust your dentures. However everyone is different so I would advise calling them. You need to have them adjusted regardless they can tell you whether they can do it there or not.

I read some where that you could warm them up to adjust them but this does not make any sense. I would check with your dentist and tell them the problem.
