The smile is gone now that the braces are here
I have had my braces now for a few months. I really dislike having them. I use to laughed or smile offten before I had the braces. Now I am so self consious about my braces that I try not to smile or laugh because I do not what anyone to see the braces that are on my teeth. Doing this is not easy and it is stressing me out. My friends ask me why I do not laugh as much any more and it is starting to be a problem. What can I do about this?

- Would braces look good on me? Braces are not made for fashion. Meaning that even if you do not feel they “look good on you” they are doing the job you want them to do. Matt find your smile. Do not worry so much about how your braces look. There are many adult and young adults who have braces. It is really not a issue for most people to even give thought to.
You are the only person who is worried about your braces. Your friends seem to be concerned about you. It is nice to have friends that care. Go back to just being your cheerful self. You many just see how no one cares and you will think less and less about what your braces look like.

Maybe try and think of things this way. Braces have been around in one form or other well before George Washington was even born. It is a safe to say, there were many people before you and probably be many more people after you that will have to wear braces.
Also braces are more affordable now, because most dental insurance plans cover for their insureds to have some orthodontic treatment. Thus affording more individuals to have braces.
Take a look around you at places such as school, work, food stores, and your local mall. I am sure you will start to see just how many minors and well as adults are now wearing braces to address their teeth health needs. Braces are so common in today’s time, no one really thinks about them. It is more important to have straight and perfect teeth, then to worry about the relatively short time one is wearing braces.

You are wearing braces for a reason. Whether you have crooked teeth, over or under bite, or a cross bite, you are wearing braces now to fix your teeth issues. The braces, will not only corrected your teeth, but will also gain you a better smile.
You were not self conscious before your braces when you had some type of teeth issues, why are you so self conscious now that you have them?
Relax a little and just learn to accept them. In theory you will be in braces for some time so why let having braces get to you on a daily bases.
