In the ninth grade and wants to have braces.
Bad teeth hate to smile
I have very bad crooked teeth. My parents are divorced and my mom is trying her best to save up money so that I can have braces. My dad will not help pay for braces, saying if I want them so bad I can get them my self when I am older.
I am in my new school and I am very self consious about my crooked teeth. I do not like talking to people in my school because I am afraid they will see my bad teeth and they will judge me. Other then my teeth I feel that I am not bad looking. I do not want to date because of the same reason I stated above. I hate my teeth and the way they look.
I feel that once I am able to get braces people will not see just how bad my teeth are. Also they will know that I am trying to do something about my terrible teeth. Does anyone know what I can do about this. Is there a way I can hide my teeth until I am able to get braces. ? This is making me really upset and making my time in school hard for me.

By just talking you will show your teeth to some degree. Laughing may show your teeth even more. My opinion on this would not to be stop talking or laughing.
I think that you are more self ware of your teeth then anyone else would be. Really how often do you look at people teeth when they are talking to you? Your not a horse no one is going to check out your teeth.
I can understand if you had rotten teeth or bad breath those things may draw more attention. Mainly because some people feel that would be something you can control by having good oral hygiene.
People can not control crooked teeth and as you know not everyone can afford braces. I think for the most part people understand this and do not make crooked teeth such a issue.
Anyone that would be mean about your teeth would not be worth worrying about anyway. Enjoy your ninth grade. If you do not make a big deal about your teeth others will not either.
Get braces when you or your mom can afford them. But don’t make having braces a main factor for you to enjoy school.

Be yourself don’t worry so much about your teeth. If anyone mentions your teeth in a mean or down putting way just tell them that your mom is trying to get braces for you. However, if your teeth bothers them so much you are more the willing to accept any and all donations to help pay for the braces.
Otherwise enjoy your ninth grade. You may not believe it your school mates have the same issue and worries that you do too. Maybe it is not about teeth but it is about being heavy, or having glasses, or frizzy hair, etc. you get the idea.
