I have a hole in my tooth
Is this a cavity
I just notice the other day that my tooth was starting to seem senative to cold. This was something new and it was only for the one tooth. I looked at it closly and it seems to have a hole in it. I is very little not discolor just a little hole I did not notice before. Then again I was not looking for it before. Is this a cavity? I brush my teeth very good two times a day so I just can not understand how I can have a cavity. Can you have a hole in your tooth and it not be a cavity?

A hole in it? What gives with that… You should get down to the dentist for a check up. Does the hole have any discolor around it — that is generally a good sign you have some decay. Com’on go get it checked out.

Well a cavity is a hole by definition. The problem would be if you have any decay. Some teeth have natural pits or small cavities. I would think that if that was your case however you would have notice it before now.
The only way you will know if it is a cavity that needs to have a filling is by going to your dentist. I would say going sooner then latter would be for the best.
