Stained teeth from smoking
Just how bad can you teeth get from smoking?
I hear how people talk about how you can get stained teeth from smoking, but really just how badly stained can they get? I smoke not a lot but about say two cigarettes a day. I brush and floss my teeth twice a day. My teeth are not stained up. Do you have to smoke a lot more then just two cigarettes a day? Or do I just take care of my teeth more then some other smokers and that is why they have stained up teeth?

I was just at the dentist not that long ago having my general teeth cleaning. As I was at the front desk waiting to pay my bill, there was photos of damaged teeth before and after.
One of the photos was what your teeth looking like if you are a smoker. The teeth were black and grayish. Really bad looking. I do not know how much that person smoked but I think any smoking will discolor your teeth over time.
I guess the good thing is that a dentist will be able to whiten your teeth, but that would only be a temporary fix. Unless you pain on quieting smoking after have your teeth whiten.

I do not smoke so it would be easy for me to say to you to give up that nasty habit. Either way you look at it smoking is not good for your teeth or over all health for that matter.
Yes, smoking only a little will discolor your teeth over time. You can keep whiting them by buying over the counter whiting products or by going to your dentist.

I think you know your risk you are taking when you smoke. Stained teeth are nothing compared to every thing else that can happen to you because of smoking.
