Tooth extraction or Root Canal
What should I do get a root canal or an extraction
Okay here is my problem I have a bad tooth in the back of my mouth. I can either have a root canal and a crown done at around $1500.00, or just have it pulled for about $400.00. I do not have any dental insurance so all of the cost would be coming out of my pocket. As you can guess money is the main issue here. I do not have a lot of extra money and so the difference does matter to me.
The dentist is telling me that I should save the tooth and not pull it. However he is willing to do whatever I decide to do. I am just not sure. Any advise would be helpful

Well I would suggest getting the tooth fixed and not removed. Removing the tooth without doing anything for the gap that will be left will over time cause your other teeth to shift.
So over the long term it would really cost you more to remove the tooth then just the $400.00.

Well either way you go you need to do something about the bad tooth before it continue to get worse. So it comes down to what you may be able to afford at the time.
I say remove it if you can not afford to fix it. Then hope you can do whatever dental work you may need in the future.
I also would advise getting dental insurance before something like this comes up again.
