Want to drink my soda

I just had one of my wisdom teeth removed.  The dentist gave me the aftercare instructions.   So as I read all the do and don’t I notice that it says I can not drink soda or really any carbonated beverages.  The problem is,  it states not to drink any carbonated beverages but dose not state for how long.  Since I am bit of a soda junkie I would like to know how long I have to go without drinking any soda.  Anyone  know?
