Root Canal what is it
What really is a Root Canal?
My mom was told she needs a root canal done in one of her molars. She does not speak English very well. So she did not ask what a root canal was. She has an appointment for the root canal on Friday but would really like to know what is a root canal? I think I know what it is but am not 100% sure can some one tell me?

A root canal is a treatment used on ones tooth that has pulp damage. The Dentist does a root canal to stop infection and to save the tooth. In order to do that the dentist will completely remove the pulp that is inside the tooth. Then the dentist would sterilize the tooth and sealed it to prevent infection
From there she may need a crown to further protect the remaining tooth.
