Would you like to get a dental plan for Christmas
Do you think a dental plan would be a good Christmas Gift.
Hello, I have a friend who’s teeth are not in the best of shape. He does not have any dental Insurance to fix them. I thought that I would buy a plan for him that I found on the Internet. It seem like a really good plan for what it cost. I could only afford an HMO but at least he would be able to take care of his teeth. I told my other friend what I was thinking about doing and was told that it would be hurtful to buy him a dental plan. She said it would be like saying he had bad teeth. I was like but he dose have bad teeth.
She said it would be like buy soap for someone that you think smells. That you may mean well but it is hurtful. I do not see it like that but what do you think.

Well can can see both points of view. However, I think that it is more thoughtful then hurtful. I would just give the gift if to him when you are by yourself so that others are not there to know what you gave. That is if you are worried about embarrassing him.

It can be touchy I would say talk to the person first. Tell him what you would like to get him, say to him that you are bring it up because if he would like it he would need to pick out his a dentist under the plan.
Since you said you are getting an HMO. He may not like the dentist you pick. Let him do that. It also gives him a chance to say to tell you no if he does not want the plan.

Sure sign me up. I think that is a great idea. It would not bother me but like the last replies feel out your friend. Maybe he does not go to the dentist because he does not want to.
If that is the case you would just be wasting your money on something he will not use.
