Had a bad root canal
Can a old root canal go wrong?
I had a root canal on one of my back molars in 2003. Now that same tooth that had the root canal and a crown put on it hurts. It hurts, and I think I have an infection since my gum is red and swollen by that tooth. If the dentist did a bad root canal job does he have to fix it for free? I mean would he not have to fix his own work? I called the dentist office but they are telling me that is not likely but could not answer me without seeing what the issue is.
Sure that way they can say no and then charge me for an office visit. I am a very upset and in pain. I want the dental office to fix the tooth they worked on. Any advise?

Well to be fair you are talking about a root canal that was done over six years ago. You could be having a new problem all together. So it is correct that the dental office would tell you that they need to see you first.
They have no clue over the phone what you are telling them is correct. Also I have heard of people that had to have a re-treatment of a root canal and yes they were charge for the re-treatment.
