Try another type of exercise that would have less jarring motion and not make you bite down on the guard.
Try walking or even speed walking. Each would have less of the jarring motion that jogging/running. Yet both will still keep you in good shape.

Well I guess you could try and see how it goes. The way I see it you would have to jog with your mouth open. That way it will keep you from biting down. If you find you can not avoid biting down then you may have to look for another way to stay in shape.

Well I say talk to your dentist about this topic. Many you only have to stop jogging for a short time until your TMJ is either fixed or at least better.
You do not want to make is worse. So think of other ways to stay in shape be sides jogging. Yoga is really great and has not jarring motions. See if that is something you can do in the mean time.
