What is Black Hairy Tongue?
I was just wondering what is black hairy tongue. My mom’s friend dad has it and they were talking about it the other day. She was saying how bad it looked. What is it and how do you get a black hairy tongue? They did not seem to really know much about it.

Black hair tongue makes your tongue look like the name given to it. Though you are not really growing hair on your tongue it gives the appearance that you are.
It is a pretty rear condition which for the most part is relatively harmless.You can get black hairy tongue from either too much yeast or bacteria in your month.
Black hairy tongue is not pretty looking and can cause you to have bad breath. However, that being said it is still harmless and only temporary.

Well I do not know of anyone that ever had Black Hairy Tongue. However, I did read up on it over the internet and it is pretty rear. As stated in another reply it is temporary.
Is your mom friend a smoker? That is not the only way you can get black hairy tongue but it is one that is mention that I came across.
He should talk to a doctor about his condition, but to help clear it up he could try brushing his tongue twice a day and rinse is mouth with Hydrogen Peroxide mix with water.
