Tooth whitening toothpaste and braces
Are you able to use whiten toothpaste product with braces
In about three weeks I will be getting braces. Just the standard metal type of braces. Anyway I was wondering if you can brush your teeth with whitening toothpaste? I do not want my teeth getting yellow because of my braces. Would it be okay for me to continuing using my whitening toothpaste while I have braces?

Sure if you have already white teeth before getting braces. Braces do not make your teeth yellow. That only happens if you do not brush or take care of your oral hygiene while you are in braces.

What you want to do is keep your teeth as clean as they are currently. If you put your braces on yellow teeth and whiten only around the braces then when the braces come off you will have the old yellow stains showing again.
Same goes if you whiten your teeth before the braces go on and then do not take care of your teeth after. When the braces come off you will have whiter spots left.
Just maintain what you are currently doing. If by some change your teeth are still two different shades after the removal of your braces you can always have the dentist whiten what is needed.
