Do not want to wear my retainer 24/7
I just got my braces off about a month ago. I was fitted for a my retainers that I have to wear on the top and bottom. Anyway I got the retainers about two week ago and was told I have to wear them 24/7 for at least six months.
I really do not want to have to wear my retainers at school. They look so stupid. I was so happy when the braces came off but now I have to deal with the retainers. How will it effect me if I do not wear my retainers only at school. I will make sure I keep them in for the rest of the day. I mean it is only six hours a day. You think if I did that I would have anything to worry about?

Come on just wear your retainer the way your are told to by your dentist. The retainer is not so bad and just like you did with the braces you will get use to having the retainer.
You do not want to take the chance of having your teeth shift because you did not wear your retainer as instructed.

If you paid for your braces then do what you want. Then any issues that come from it is only on you. However, if your parents paid for your teeth to get corrected. I feel you should do what is told for you to do. It would not be fair to your parents that your teeth shift because you do not want to wear a silly retainer.

I am not sure why you are so upset over a retainer. I would have thought getting though the braces would have been harder. Maybe talk to your Orthodontic dentist before you do anything. See if it would be okay for you not to wear it during school hours.
