Getting dental work done at a Dental School
Dental schools are they a good place to go for dental work?
I have about four filling that I know of that need to be done. As well as the normal X-rays and cleanings. From there I am not sure if I would need any more dental work since it has been about three years since I have last been to a dentist.
I make okay money and have a little extra but that dose not mean I want to spend it all at the dentist. I have been told that dental school are a lot cheaper and the work is the same as if I had it done by a regular dentist. What I would like to know is, is that true? Also to do you have to be low income just to be able to get your work done at a dental school? I would not be consider low income but I do not want to get beet up by high dental cost.

Jin may I suggest just getting dental insurance or a dental discount plan to help off set your dental cost. Dental school are good and normally will be cheaper to have the work done by them but I hear most work on a first come first serve basses. You could be sitting there all day and not be seen.
If you got dental insurance or a dental discount plan your saving could be just as good and you do not have to go to a school to get the work done.

I do not think you have to be in a low income bracket to go to a dental school. It just many low income family use the services of a dental school because they tend to be less expensive.
I am not 100% sure about this, however a friend of mine that went to UCLA dental school in CA said depending on your income can depend on how much they will charge you for their services. Since I never went I took what she said as hear say.
Call some schools in your area and find out how they work. I am sure they do not all work the same way so you may need to make more the just one call.
