Can you get canker sores from braces
I am kinda new to having braces. I have only had my metal braces now for little more then three months. The problem I am now having is that when I sleep they seem to dig into my gums so much so that my gums some times have sores on them by the braces. Not all the time but they do hurt. Can braces give you canker sores? If so how do I stop that from happening?

Well I do not think that braces can give you canker sores. If you have canker sores it would not be because of the braces. However just wash your mouth out with warm salt water and that will help in clearing up the sores.

Your gums just may be irritated by the braces. Meaning you do not have canker sores just irritated gums. Warm salt water will help with that too. But also there is a dental wax that the orthodontic dentist will normally give you. Try using it when you sleep that may help too.

No braces can not give you a canker sore. If you have one it has nothing to do with your braces. Just wash your mouth out at least twice a day with warm salt water that should help clear it up.

Well braces really scraped up the inside of my mouth and it hurt for like a two months before my mouth adjusted to having the braces. Maybe that is what is really going on for you.
Try using your dental wax to help slow down your braces for scratching your mouth up
