Getting an individual dental plan
So I am looking to get an individual dental plan. I do not get dental offer to me at my job so I have to buy it on my own. I never had to buy insurance before so can I do so directly? How much does having to get dental insurance on your own cost? I know that when I did get it though a job it was pretty costly. Something like 60.00 a month and my share of cost was 20.00 of it.
So if I had to get dental insurance on my own am I looking at around $60.00 a month? Any information would be welcomed.

No not necessarily. Cost of dental insurance depends on the type of plan you are buying and the plan it self. Example Dental HMO are normally much cheaper then PPOs.
So when looking for a dental insurance you need to know what type of plan you are wanting to use. Say if you want to choice your own dentist then look at PPOs or if that does not matter to you look at dental HMOs

You may want to try shopping out your dental insurance needs. This website offers you a chance to do just that by entering your zip code at the top of the screen.
You will see that plans cost varies depending on what you are looking for and what fits your needs the best.

If you do not want to pay around 60.00 a month look for either HMO’s dental insurance plans or Dental Discount plans. Both are very low monthly cost and help save you money on your dental needs.
I do not see any reasons to get a PPO unless it is just to stay with a dentist. To me a dentist is a dentist so I really do not care. Though I understand for some people it is very important that they keep their dentist therefore sometimes having to buy more expensive plans in order to do so.
