Dental, Why do I have this toothache
I been having a toothache now for the past few weeks. It is one of my front top teeth. It is not OMG I am in pain but it does hurt off and on. I have been to the dentist only for him to tell me I do not have any cavities nor do I have any gum issues. I know I should be happy with that but I even had my orthodontic dentist look at my teeth and he also tells me that my teeth have no cavities.
I know the pain in is not coming from my braces since I had them now for a year without any pain from day one. I have a great Orthodontic dentist by the way. So why do I have this toothache? Can there be other reasons besides a cavity for someone to have a toothache.

You could have some food bits stuck in between your tooth and gum. With braces this happens and can be harder to get at with the floss but try flossing that area extra well to see if that helps any.
Ask your Orthodontic dentist if there is any way you could get a cavity behind the braces. I am not sure if that could happen but may be why they do not see a cavity. If your gums are in good shape I am not sure why else your tooth would hurt.

You do not state what is causing your teeth or tooth to hurt you. Like does it hurt because of hot or cold items touching it? If so that could be just a sign of having a sensitive tooth. Brushing with toothpaste for sensitive teeth should help that problem.

Do you have any kind of cold or sinus issues. Sometimes when you have sinus issues acting up it can feel as if your teeth hurt because of the built up pressures going on in that area. You may want to look into that as a reason why you are feeling like your teeth hurt.

Because your tooth has nerves and they hit the brain. If you are over 20 years old take an asprin and relax for a minute… otherwise find some pain reliever and see a dentist.

Thanks everyone for your advise. Paul I did do what you said to do and right not seems to be working. If it comes back I will have my dentist take another look at my teeth.
Thanks again I feel better =)
