Dental crowns, Silver vs White dental crowns.
Hello, I need to have three crowns. all in three crown would be for my molars which are in the back of my mouth. I want to have the metal or silver crowns because they are $250.00 cheaper that is a saving of $750.00. The silver crowns I can afford without to much financial worries. The white crowns I would need to put on a credit card and god only knows how long it would take me to pay off that bill.
My friends are telling me to get the white crown because the silver ones are tacky and look bad. My thinking is the crowns are going to be in the back of my mouth, so it not like you will really see them. Yet the people I talk to about this seem to think I am crazy for wanting the silver ones. It is not like I want the silver crown over the white crown only that I can afford them where the other crowns would put me in dept.
So my quetion is: Is it really that bad to have silver crowns if they are in the back of your mouth? Or should I go with what my friends tell me and put myself in dept for the tooth color white crowns? Opinions please.

Do what is best for you and forget your friends. One no I do not think that having silver crowns are tacky if they are on your back teeth. After all are your friends making you open your mouth so that they can do some type of inspection?
If your friends want you to have white crowns so bad tell them no problem you get white crowns if they are paying for them otherwise tell them they can keep their opinions to themselves.

I have one question. Why do you care what your friends think? They are not the ones paying for the crowns you are. Why would you put yourself into debt over something you friends feel like you should do and not over what you feel is best for you.
You were just fine with getting silver crowns until you friend ran their mouths off. I agree with the last reply until they fork out the money for you to get white crowns then they should keep their opinions to themselves. There is nothing tacky about trying to stay within a budget.

Here is a thought get the silver crowns you can afford then if at any time you are better able to pay for white crown then have them replaced if that is if by then you want to.
I am sure your friends mean well enough but they do not seem to be like they have full understanding of your financial needs. Which in my opinion is not their concern anyway. So just say yea whatever and do what you want to do anyway.
