Second Dental Opinion, Getting a second opinion on dental work
The dentist my wife went to seems over priced. We do not have dental insurance but can afford to have dental work done just do not want to be priced gouge. I would like for her to get a second opinion from a different dentist to make sure that the dental work needed is with in reason. I am worried that the dentist is making her have more dental work or at least more expensive dental work then necessary.
My wife just feels it would cost us more money for a second opinon to get then to just have the dental work done. Is there a way to get a second opinion for little to no charge if we are able get the X-rays from the first dentist.

Well to just shop cost you can do that by comparing the treatment plan they would have gave to your wife. If you did not get one ask for one and make sure they list the ADA codes for the dental services.
Then you only need to call your other local dentist and compare their cost to what is listed on the treatment plan.
Now if you are worry that the dentist is having your wife do unnecessary dental work then you would need to have a second opinion. Your wife is correct that many dentist would charge for that. Normally you can save on your X-rays cost by transferring your X-rays.
Keeping in my your current dental office may charge you for giving you your X-rays.
