Dental Care, I have a cracked tooth
What will a dentist do to fix a cracked tooth? I noticed a few days ago that I cracked my tooth on a bone. I can see a light line going down the side. So I made a dental appointment. I will be able to see the dentist in three days from now. I am eating really soft foods because I am afraid to brake off my tooth. What will the dentist do to fix it? Will I need to have a crown or can they just use bonding or something like that?

Well it will depend on just how badly you cracked your tooth. But if I had to guess you will more then likely need at least a crown.
Once a tooth is cracked it is weaker and needs the crown for protection against tooth decay and more breakage.

I cracked a back tooth once and the dentist told me he could bond it or put a crown on it. That it was up to me though he said a crown would be the better choice.
At the time since I did not have to much money I had it bonded. Two years latter when I had more money I did wine up getting that tooth crowned.
