Dental Insurance, Root Canals, and Dental Crowns needed
I am looking for an insurance plan that will cover the cost of two dental crowns and a root canal. I need a dental insurance plan that will pay out at least 80% with no waiting periods. All I can find are dental insurance plans going up to %50 coverages but with a year waiting period.
Even if I could scrape up %50 of the cost for my dental services which would be very are on me to do financely there is no way I can way a year to have the work done. What can you advise for me to get that would be better coverage with no waiting periods.

May be look into a Dental HMO insurance plan. They normally do not have waiting periods. However they do not pay out on percentages.
Their dental services are schedule out telling you your cost for the different dental services. However, that way you will know how much things will cost and whether or not you can afford them.

If you are wanting a dental PPO or Indemnity Insurance plan so you can choose your own dentist then those are the type of plan that normally will have long waiting periods for crowns and root canals.
If you are willing to change dentist and a general dentist can do your root canal then look into getting an dental HMO insurance plan. However keep in mind many HMO will not cover for you to see a specialist.
So if you have to see a specialist for your root canal the next choice would be getting a dental discount plan and at least saving 20% off the cost of their services. Now I know this is no where near 80% you are looking for but something is better then nothing in my book.
Think about getting dental insurance plan so in the future if you have more major dental needs you will have a plan in force to help you. Instead of looking for something after the fact and hoping to get 80% covered.

Well If you are looking for PPOs dental insurance plans you are going to have to deal with waiting periods. Most PPOs plans do have waiting periods for majors dental services.
Normally you would want an HMO dental insurance plan since they are the type of dental insurance that generally do not have waiting periods. However they tell you your cost for dental services that are covered. HMO normally do not base their coverages on a percentage.
I know this does not help you for your current need but I do agree that you should get dental insurance regardless so that you will not have this same issue latter on
