Dental Insurance, With dental insurance how much should a crown cost.
My dental crown is chipped so that you can see some metal. It is in the back and the tooth itself is not hurting me at all. I just would like to get a new crown. I had that crown for over ten years. I have dental insurance that will pay out 60% of the cost for a crown.
My dental office told me that is good coverage for a crown. However how do I know what the going price is for a crown so that I can have an idea of what my share of cost is going to be? The dental office staffing told me they could not tell me what it would cost without seeing me first. I know I only need the crown replaced. Is there a way for me to find out before seeing the dentist. Cost is going to be a factor on whether or not I have the crown replaced.

No not to the exact amount. Crown cost varies and it will depend on the crown you get. Also the dentist want to make sure there is no damaged to your tooth so that why they do not like giving out rates over the phone.
60 percent is good coverages for majors services. What you can do is go in to the dentist for the review but do not have work started. The dentist after seeing you should be able to tell you cost from there.
You may want to submit the treatment plan to your dental company before work is started so you know your exact amount that will be due from you.
