Dental cost over $1000.00 should I be looking for a second dental opinion
So I live in Maryland and just got my dental treatment plan from the dentist I went to. The estimate of services came out to be $1137.39 so even with my dental insurance that pays half of my dental cost. I am looking at a little over $500.00 cost to me.
I was told that I needed a deep cleaning and had six cavities that needed to be filled. Does the cost the dental office is quoting me sound fair? Or should I be getting a second opinion in order to find a lower cost? It just seems like a lot of money for some dental services.

I am not sure want the cost for dental services are in Maryland. I am out here in California were I guess things can be more costly. Even so it sounds as if your are getting good price for you dental services.
I have dental plan though Pacificare dental but for a deep cleaning my cost is still $120 per quad that is 480.00 right there. Filling are hard to guess at since it can depend on how big the cavity is but my range for filling are between $40 – $70.
I would say go ahead and try to budget your dental cost in. You do not want to wait for your cavities to turn into root canal.
