Dental Plans Review, My dad said after reviewing his dental plan it was no good.
My dad gets this really lame dental plan though work that only covers about 10 percent of any dental work we were to have done. So he is going to drop it. I have not see a dentist in over three years. My teeth do not hurt me or anything but three years is a long time in between check ups.
Since my dad does not make to much extra money he said he can not afford to take me to the dentist if there is nothing wrong with my teeth so I better make sure I take care of them so that nothing comes up. So I would like to know beside brushing twice a day and flossing two to three times a week what more should I be doing so I do not have to worry about my teeth.
Also are there any cheap dental insurance plans my dad can look at that would offer more then 10 percent in coverages? I would really like to be able to go to the dentist.

I can understand your dad not having the funds to take you to see the dentist. But the problem is by not having your normal general dental checks ups and cleaning decay can go unchecked causing you to have larger dental issues in the future.
Going to your twice a year check ups helps the dentist keep your teeth free of tarter buildup and tooth decay. Also it give them a chance to spot a small dental issue before it as the change to become a larger dental issue. Thus saving your dad money for your dental care.
That said it hard to make someone else do something when they have already ruled it out. You can suggest that he look into getting a low cost dental HMO insurance plan. That not only you but your family can get the check up, X-rays and cleaning for free and a very low monthly rate.
