Dental care, Inflamed gums do to rough flossing
Today I had to go into the dentist for my general dental appointment. The dental assistant was being a rude jerk. She was telling me very rudely that I need to brush and floss my teeth better. I do brush and floss but flossing is a little hard since I also wear braces.
Then the dental assistant started flossing my teeth for me, shoving the floss into my gums. At the time they were really bleeding and she all like that because you do not floss…

wash your mouth out with Listerine or whatever mouthwash you may have at home. Keep in in a little longer then normal. I may hurt some but it will help kill any germs and keep your gums clean.

I think all dentist/dentist assistant will get on you about flossing and brushing your teeth. Regardless of how good you may think you are they will get have something to say.
Now if your gums are bleeding from flossing and or brushing that is a sign that you are either not flossing good enough or regularly.
It can be hard to floss with braces however, it is so important that you do and maybe in your case just floss a little longer to makes sure you are getting everything. Many people get gingivitis and or gum disease when they have metal braces due to lack of good flossing habits.
Now I am not say a dental assistant should be rude to you or make you feel bad about whatever is going on. Maybe you should tell her that you feel she is being off putting.
Believe me when you have to tell people the same thing all the time you can start to come of sound harsh even if you do not mean too.

Well sorry to say if you are bleeding and your gums hurt just from flossing you are not flossing well enough. Just try to floss many more often.
As far as her being rude, well hard to say you may just be upset about her telling you that you are not flossing good enough when you feel you are. If she is hurting you at the time you should always tell them. They should not hurt you and if they do not know then you need to speak up.
