Dental Care, Have a toothache and do not have a dentist.
I do not go to the dentist like I should since truthfully they scare me. I get dental insurance though my work but never used it. I think I am able to go to any dentist but how do I know which dentist would be good? I have a really bad toothache so I know that I need some dental work but do not know how to choose a dentist that will be understanding to a 32 year old baby. Need advise.

There are many people who have dentophobia. And sadly like you let there teeth go to the point where they start to have major dental issues.
It is good that you have some dental insurance to help you address the cost for your dental needs. Finding a dental that can understand you dentophobia is really not all that hard to do.
Just start making some phone calls to your local dental office and tell them you need a dentist that is willing to spend the extra time needed to address you fears. If a dentist know a head of time you have dental fears they will be able to take things slower with you and make you feel more at ease.

I am glad to hear that you are going to go to the dentist. I am only sorry to hear that it took having to get a toothache for you to go.
Since you have a dental insurance plan that lets you choose your own dentist picking a dentist should be easier for you. Like the one reply stated it start with making phone calls. Get a feel for the dental office. Make sure they take your current dental insurance and confirm how they process out claims.
They let then know about your fears. Some dentist really do not have the time if they are always booked, to baby you so the staffing will normally let you know if you ask them ahead of time. Or they will make sure to book you in for a longer time slot.

Try asking friends or family members who they go to. See what they think about their dentist and how they feel the dental office runs. This why you can feel like you have more personal information about a dentist before going.

It will all depend on how much effort you want to put into finding the right dental office for you. I say forgot making phone call you do not get the true feel for the place that way.
Drive by a few of your local dental office. If you like where it is walk in. Talk the the staffing in person. Is it a very busy office? If so they may not have a lot of extra time trying to sooth over your fears.
Do the people look happy or how does the place feel to you. This is important when you have fears because you do not want to go to place you are not conferable in right from the start.
