Second dental opinion needed in New York for teeth extrations.
I am 23 and my dentist is telling me I should have my wisdom teeth pulled in the next year or so before they start giving me any problems. The thing is they are not giving me any problems so why pull them?
Do you always have to pull wisdom teeth? Can a get a second opinion on this? I just do not see the point of pulling teeth that are not causing any problems currently.

I am 45 and never pulled my wisdom teeth they came out fine and I never had any issues with them. Though I am told this is not always the case and more time then not you will start to have issues with wisdom teeth.
Your dentist is not telling you to pull them out now so why not have the wait and see approch. If your dental checks start to show they are coming in wrong or causing problems with your other teeth then do something about them

Well wisdom teeth can be come inpacted causing your other teeth to become crooked. It is best to take them out before it gets to that point. A dentist would be albe to determine if you have enough room for your wisdom teeth to come out without causing problems to your other teeth.
Getting a second opinion is up to you. There is no reason why you can see another a dentist for advice.

I would wait it out then if I needed to have them pulled in a year or so I would get a dental discount plan if I did not have current dental insurnce and get at least 20 percent savings off the cost of any oral sugeon.
