My dentist has been advising me to get braces do to the fact that I have a few teeth that are crooked and two gaps.   The dental Insurance that I have though my employer does not cover for adult braces.  My dentist said that I may be able to buy a second dental plan on my own that would cover for me to have adult braces.   That way I would at least be able to cut my dental cost for braces.   I do not know where to get dental insurance for adult braces.  Would like some advise please.  Thanks.

I been having a toothache now for the past few weeks.  It is one of my front top teeth.  It is not OMG I am in pain but it does hurt off and on.   I have been to the dentist only for him to tell me I do not have any cavities nor do I have any gum issues.  I know I should be happy with that but I even had my orthodontic dentist look at my teeth and he also tells me that my teeth have no cavities.

My son is fourteen and still sucks his thumb.  He does not do it all the time every day but over the years he has done it enough to push out his teeth a little.  I took him to see an orthodontic dentist so that his teeth can be corrected.  However once he found out my son still will suck his thumb when stressed or upset he said it would be better not to get braces until he stop that habit.

My fourteen year old son had a appointment to see about getting braces at the orthodontic  office.  The dentist after looking at my son teeth said that he had two loose teeth and he could not put braces on while they are loose.  I had him point them out to me and they are only a little loose but I do not understand why.

I just got back from a consult at the orthodontics.  I was told by the dentist that my son would need to have five baby teeth pulled.  Then he could get braces put on and they would straighten out his teeth as the adult teeth come in.  He would then have straight adult teeth.

How do you floss with braces on. I just got braces not to long ago and I went my orthodontic check up where my dentist got on my about flossing. I told him I am trying to floss as he told me to. The thing is the floss barely fits behind my back teeth how am I going to get it to go around the braces. I just wine up having the floss get stuck. It is a pain. Any suggestions?

How do you treat swollen gums faster? I need to have braces but the Orthodontic dentist will not start treatment. He said that I have some gum problems that need to be clear up. My gums are very noticeable swollen, gun and often bleed when I brush and sometimes eat. The Orthodontic dentist said that I would need to see a Periodontist dentist to get gum treatment first. How can I help to clear up this gum issue so they they stop bleeding and become less swollen.?

My good friend had braces for over three years and she getting them off in a week. Right now the part of the teeth you can see are pretty yellow. She brushes but I guess with the braces she could not use anything to whiten her teeth. Now that she is getting her braces off she is worried about her teeth looking all funny and messed up with yellow stains. Can her dentist whiten her teeth once he take off her braces?

I have been wanting to get braces for a long as I can remember.  I have a very noticeable under bite.  My parents just did not have the extra money to get me braces when I was younger.   Now I have a good enough job to be able to get braces but my dental insurance I get though work does not offer adult braces.   What type of dental plan do I need to get in order to have coverage for adult braces?

I will be seeing my Orthrodonic dentist in two weeks for my follow up visits.  I was going to have my spacer removed and be fitted for bands.  However, today when I was eating I accidental swallowed the spacer.  It came off and I did not notice until it was too late.  What do I do?  Do I just wait out the two weeks for my next appointment or try and get in sooner for a new spacer in the mean time?

I am kinda new to having braces.  I have only had my metal braces now for little more then three months.  The problem I am now having is that when I sleep they seem to dig into my gums so much so that my gums some times have sores on them by the braces.   Not all the time but they do hurt.  Can braces give you canker sores?  If so how do I stop that from happening?

I just got my braces put on today =(  I really did not want to have them, but my parents said I do not have a choice in the matter.  They are having an over bite corrected.   Any way two hours later and my teeth feel numb.  Should my teeth be feeling this way?  I do not think they put anything on me to numb up my mouth to get the braces so why am I feeling numb now?

My sister will be getting braces within a week or two.  She was told she could have colored braces.  What would be the best color for her to get?  She can have up to two colors so I was telling her pink and lavender.  She  knows that she does not want green since she thinks it would make her look like she has food in her braces.   If you can give her good color suggestions that would be great.

What type of dental insurance coverages for adult braces?  I been wanting to get braces to fix two gaps that I have in my teeth.  I do not have any dental insurance but up to now I really did not feel like I needed it.  I go to the dentist just to have my two check  ups and cleans.  Which I just pay for out of pocket.
