I do not like to going to the dentist
I have not been to the dentist in over five years now. I am not currently having any tooth ache pains but worry about my teeth anyway. I know I should go to the dentist but I do not like going since I am always scared they are going to hurt me. I do not like the whole dental office experience. So just making an appointment for a cleaning make me upset. Is there anything I can do to get over this fear. I know my teeth need at least a cleaning.
Help I have to have two filling
I went to the dentist the other day and was told that I have two cavities. He wants to do filling for them. I am scared that I will have to have shoots in order for him to do the fillings. I am scared of getting shoots and do not have them done unless I have no choice. Can he do filling with out shoots?
I only have my bottom wisdom teeth
I went to the dentist the other day and was told that I have only my bottom wisdom teeth coming in. Since the dentist at this time said they have room and not causing any problems to let them come out. The thing is I have no top wisdom teeth. Is that normal to get just the bottoms and not the top?

Messed up teeth are giving me the blues.
This is hard for me to write about but would like some advise on what to do. To start with I am 32 and my teeth are so bad that they hurt I can only eat soft foods because I am afraid to eat anything to hard for fear of braking my teeth. I know I have no one to blame but myself for he problem that I am now facing. When I was younger I just did not take good care of my teeth like I should have. My mom was poor so we did not have much and going to the dentist was always costly for her. She told me and my brother that we needed to brush extra well and to floss every day because she could not afford to fix our teeth.

Need a cleaning but scared of going to the dentist.
I know that my teeth has plaque build up on them. It has been a few years since I have been to the dentist. Although I know I need to get them clean, I am afraid the dentist is going to hurt me. How much does it hurt to get your teeth cleaned? If I have a lot of plaque will it hurt more to have a dentist scrape it off? Hate to go now I have to please advise me on what kind of pain should I be expecting.
I just do not understand why my dentist is so cruel
I took my son to the dentist today and they wanted to extract one of his teeth since it could not be saved. The problem is that the dentist wanted to do this to my son while he is still awake. I told him I would want to put my son under so that he is asleep while they rib out one of his. The dentist said it was unnecessary, and that he will not use a general anaesthetic for a simple extraction. I left the dentist and called two others, who more or less said the same thing. Are dentist even human? Or are they all nuts? I do not want my son to have to be awake for something like that. Give me a brake he is only eight.
For the most part the injections do not hurt any more. The dentist numbs the area first before giving the shots. Therefore you my feel a pinch but should not really hurt you. If you are scared about just having the shot, then try these few tips.

Please do not be scared. The dentist will make it so that you do not have pain though the extraction process. Although going to sleep may be a choice make sure your dentist does that. Also if cost is a factor keep in mind going to sleep may cost more. So make sure you know what are the cost factors are. If you have any insurance make sure to check if you would be covered.

Part of why people are afraid of different things is because of the lack of understanding of what it is or what it is about. Try to find out all there is to know about wisdom teeth extractions. There are many very good websites that go over the step by step process. Also ask your dentist all the questions you have about the process and the care after the removal. Tell your dentist about your fear and concerns. This will help him explain to you how the process is not really all the scary. One other resource is a course this blog. Many people have the same fears of the dentist and extractions. There have been many good replies to those questions. Try checking them out as well.
I can understand your fears of going to the dentist. You have had bad experience before so this does not help you with your fears. But believe me their are still many good dentist out there that care.

One of my friends had nine teeth removed at once and although she did not get implants she did get her partials in on the same day. However she did have insurance and it still was not cheep, about 250.00 per tooth. You may be able to find a dental school that can do the work at a low cost. But I do not know about getting implants for free and or cheep. maybe you will be able to get dentures at a low cost. Call some schools and check around see what they will offer you. Good luck to you
You can get cavities under a filling it does happen. It would not be any one fault. I am not sure about sealant. I would think that if you had a cavity before the sealant was put on they should have saw that with the x-rays like your cousin did. Keep in mind you have the best available source, your cousin the dentist. (if only I had a dentist in the family) What did he say about this to you?

One of the suggestions I can make is when you go to your appointment make sure you address your fears and concerns with your dentist. Make sure that you fully understand that “something” he is going to do. Not knowing what is going to happen makes your fear worst. When you have a understanding of the process and or procedures it will help remove your fears. Working well with the dentist and understanding what is being done will go a long way,
Keep in mind that pulling teeth is the the last choice any dentist wants to make. They will always try and save your teeth whenever possible. At this point you just need to go to the dentist. They will do an X-ray and then advise you what they feel you need to have done.
