Does having your wisdom teeth pulled really hurt excessively

My sister will be having all four wisdom teeth pulled on Friday.  The next day Saturday is a wedding shower that I will be having for our other sister as a surprise.  This was already planed out and I can not change the dates.  I told her not to worry about not coming since our sister will know that she just got her teeth pulled.  She still wants to come and I am okay with that but I think she will have be in a lot of pain since it is the day after.

Posted on Feb. 11th 2010 by J Bird in Extractions, Oral Surgery 3 Comments »

So I just got two of my front teeth pulled.  I will be getting a bridge put in but I need to heal first.  Anyway I just had them pulled like two hours ago and I am getting really hungry.   How long should I wait to eat.   I am not in really to much pain so I think I could get something soft just not sure how much longer I should wait.

Smoking after wisdom teeth extraction

Posted on Feb. 9th 2010 by Lexie Williams in Dental Help, Extractions 3 Comments »

I just got a wisdom tooth removed today.  It was not really a big deal since it was mostly out so the extraction was rather quickly done and I do not have much pain at all.  The thing is I am a smoker and the paper work for the after care instructions say I should wait 24 hours before smoking.   I heard different things said about that though.  I do not what dry socket but what are the odds of really getting that from smoking?  Do I really have to wait 24 hours?

Food stuck in my wisdom teeth extraction

I  got my wisdom teeth removed about two weeks ago and the thing is I got food stuck in one of the holes.  I have tried every thing to get the food out to no avail.  Is it okay will the healing process push the food out or should I go back to the dentist to get them to remove it?

Braces and Wisdom teeth

Posted on Jan. 20th 2010 by Patty Hicks in Braces, Extractions 1 Comment »

Will the have to remove my wisdom teeth

I will be getting braces soon in about a month.  I have very crowed teeth now which is making my teeth crooked.  I do not have room for my wisdom teeth to come in.  I had to have my general dentist take the X-rays which show I have wisdom teeth they just have not come out yet.  He is sending the X-rays over to me Orthodontic for review so he can advise whether or not I need to have any teeth pulled due to the over crowding.

Having three teeth pulled

Posted on Jan. 11th 2010 by Angel in Braces, Extractions 4 Comments »

Does it hurt when Dentist pulls out your teeth

I have a over crowding issue with my teeth.  The dentist told me that he will need to have three teeth pulled to help with the crowding issue.  I have to have them pulled before they will give me braces.  So I am wondering does it hurt to have your teeth pulled?  If so how much?  I am not a big baby but I do not like to be in pain.

Tooth ache should I have it pulled

Root canal vs getting the tooth pulled

I really do not want to pull the tooth but I am in a lot of pain.  I have a back molar that was decaying. I bough dental insurance six months ago but I still have three months to wait for a root canal or an extraction.  The thing is having an extraction is cheaper then the root canal and I do not think I can put up with the pain for another three months.   Please advise what should I do to save my tooth and not pay so much money?

Still bleeding after Wisdom teeth removal

Posted on Dec. 23rd 2009 by Leon Day in Dental Help, Extractions, Oral Surgery No Comments »

All four teeth remove

I had all my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday and I am still bleeding.  Is  that normal?  My face is all swollen but I was told that would happen.  I do not have too much pain either so that is good.  Tylenol seems to be working for me right now whenever I have some pain from the extractions.
