Bad Breath, Painful Gums

Posted on Feb. 26th 2010 by Jake Bell in Dental Help, Gingivitis, Gum Pain No Comments »

My gums have been red and slightly swollen for over two months now.  I be using Listerine with gum care and that seemed to be helping me.  My gums still hurt but not all the time mostly when I brush or eat.   Since I do not have a dentist and no dental insurance using mouthwash is really the only affordable thing for me to do.

Posted on Feb. 25th 2010 by McGee in Gingivitis, Gum Pain 4 Comments »

My gums really hurt and I do not have dental Insurance

So about two weeks ago I got a soft toothbrush  and toothpaste with whiting.  Now my gums are really sore and they are bleeding.  I did not worry so much at first since I started wearing my retainer again that I had a while back. I figured since it had been a while since I wore my retainer last that may be way my gums hurt now.

Flossing is hurting my gums

Posted on Feb. 8th 2010 by Boe Grant in Dental Help, Gingivitis 3 Comments »

I was told by the dentist that even though my teeth are very good and I have no cavities, I need to start flossing better.  I have the start of gum disease.  He said it is not bad but he can tell I am not flossing.   So I started flossing like he told me two times a day.  I am doing a good job keeping it up but it hurts my gums.  How to I stop the pain from flossing.  The dentist said it may hurt until I have done it for a while and my gums get use to it.  But I do not want to wait so long as that.   Help please

My gums are bleeding

Posted on Jan. 11th 2010 by JoAnn James in Dental Help, Gingivitis 2 Comments »

I am worried about my gums

Well my gums have been bleeding  when I brush and floss my teeth.  I brush two times a day and floss at lease once some times twice times a day.  Now when I do either my gums bleed.  They are redder then they use to be and I do not know why.  I have been using new mouth wash that helps your gums, but I do not see any difference in my gums and they still bleed.

Periodontal disease and treatment

Posted on Dec. 16th 2009 by A Fields in Dental Help, Gingivitis 1 Comment »

The dentist said I had Periodontal disease

The dentist said that I need a periodontal cleaning for four quads.  Does having a periodontal cleaning hurt?  Or is it the same as a general cleaning?  I am worried because he said it would take two appointments to do all four quads.  Why would it take two appointments and not one? Any one know?

Why do my teeth bleed when I brush

Posted on Nov. 17th 2009 by Ty in Dental Help, Gingivitis 3 Comments »

Bleeding teeth

Lately when I brush my teeth start to bleed.  I notice this when I spit out my toothpaste.  I never spit out blood before. Now however, I do and it seems to be alot.  This has been going on for a little over a month.  My teeth only bleed when I brush and at no other time so I know that brushing is the cause of  the bleeding.

Help I have gum disease

I just got back from the dentist and was told I have the on set of gingivitis.  My teeth are very healthy so I am okay there.  I am just upset about having gum disease.  My dentist did state that it was caught very early so I am glad about that.   She told me what gingivitis is and how you get it.  She said that as long as I stay on top of it now, I should not have any problems with it latter.

Do I have Gum Disease

Lately I have started to notice that my gums around some of my back teeth are swollen, puffy and red.  I brush my teeth but this has gotten me worried that it may be some kind of gum disease.   I am not sure but now I am starting to think that one of my back teeth may also be a little lose.   I am not sure I am not just freaking out about it or if I really have a lose tooth.

Will my dentist and I be able to choose the specialist?

Will my dentist and I be able to choose the specialist?

Some plans limit referrals to specialists. Your dentist may be required to refer you to a limited selection of specialists who have contracted with the plan’s third party. You also may be required to get permission from the plan administrator before being referred to a specialist. If you choose a plan with these limitations, make sure qualified specialists are available in your area. Look for a plan with a broad selection of different types of specialists.

What do you look for in choosing a dental insurance plan?

What do you look for in choosing a dental insurance plan?

Does the plan give you the freedom to choose your own dentist or are you restricted to a panel of dentists selected by the insurance company? If you have a family dentist with whom you are satisfied, consider the effects changing dentists will have on the quality or quantity of care you receive. Because regular visits to the dentist reduce the likelihood of developing serious dental disease, it’s best to have and maintain an established relationship with a dentist you trust
