I not clear on whats the difference between the two cleaning. I only know that one is much more expensive. Which a course is the one that the dentist seems to always want to do. Okay so I only go to the dentist once a year for a cleaning unlike the suggest two times. I feel I take really good care of my teeth and do not want to spend the money for going twice when it can be used on paying my bills.

When I do go to the dentist, He tell me that I really need a deep cleaning now. Having a deep cleaning done would cost me $95.00 a quad totaling out to $380.00 compared to $75.00 for a cleaning. When I tell him no just give me a cleaning, he kinda makes me feel bad and says that to think about having the deep cleaning because it is what I really need. I do not know I feel that they are just trying to get more money from me. So anyone know why I should spend all this money for a deep cleaning?

Normally a dentist does a deep cleaning because you have periodontal disease or otherwise know as gingivitis. You can have bone loss when you have untreated gingivitis. So really the difference in the opinions where not that you do have some degree of periodontal disease/gingivitis but about weather you need fillings or root canal. I think getting the other opinion is a good idea. I do not think anyone is trying to scary you into having work done. Remember that dentist are going to advise what they feel you need. Possible that in your case they each feel that they can correct a problem differently.

That is why in the end you make the decision that you feel is best for you and what you can afford to do.
