]]> Headaches, body aches, numbness, and a whole bunch of other physiological manifestations seem to appear just before a dentist appointment. I have heard of people sweating profusely until they were embarrassed and just walked out of the office.

I think many of these symptoms could be easily overcome by understanding the dental procedures and talking with your dentist. It is just human nature to worry about the unknown. There are a few good dental information sites that might help you get familiar with the dental terms and the procedures used. If you live on the West Coast, search CaliforniaDentalInsurance.com then look on the left side of the page. They offer some tips that may help.

In addition, I would search the Dental Opinions blog as there is a ton of information on dentistry. Keep me posted on what you find…

]]> If you are fasting for a religious issue. Then I would have to ask what religion are you in order to give you accurate information.

If you are doing it as a cleaning of your body. You should be find since even if you do bleed a little normally you rinse and spit.

And finally if you are fasting to lose weight then I would have to say that a poor died will damage your teeth in the long term. So you may want to rethink that.

]]> This may seem silly now that I will say this but it is true:  Ask your dentist that will be doing the work that you are going to have done.  Normally a dentist will explain things to you using their terms. Unless you let them know that they are speaking “Greek” to you, they will not know that you do not have a full understanding of what they are explaining. Keep asking questions until you understand what they are talking about.

The dentist will not mind explaining things to you until you fully understand. This not only helps you but them as well. That way their is a meeting of minds and no confusion latter.
