Chiped tooth, how long can I wait to see a dentist?
I just chip a small part of my back molar off. I have dental insurance but it cost more if I go in as an emergency. Then if I wait for an appointment. I can not make an appointment for another three weeks. Should I wait or go to emergency were it will cost me at least 200.00 more. I not sure if it is worth going now or not.

There could be many different reasons why your tooth chip in the first place. Based on the reason you may want to go to the dentist now.
If you had a cavity and this is why it was able to chip off. The cavity made your tooth week therefore easy to chip. If that is the case I would suggest paying the extra money to have it looked at now since it may only get worse the longer you wait.
If it chipped it because of some accident you had, maybe you will feel like you can wait. However, be extra careful with it until you get into see the dentist. Because the tooth is chip, it is also open to get a cavity or to crack and brake some more.
Try to think of both the cons and pros about going sooner then latter. I suggest sooner, but waiting would be up to you. Just beware of the issues waiting has.

You will have to try and determine if spending 200.00 now saves you more money then by waiting. You may not know that unless you wait. Going in now you know you are going to spend the 200.00 plus whatever your cost is to fit it.
If you wait: Maybe what was once just a bonding issue has now turned into, having to have a filling or a root canal. Maybe you brake your tooth some more therefor needing it pulled and some how replaced. If that happens will fixing it then now cost you more then just the 200.00?
You could wait and nothing additional happens therefor paying the 200.00 sooner would have been extra just for having peace of mind. Having peace of mind might be worth the extra 200.00
In the end it is up to you and what you feel like you can afford and what you are willing to risk.
Good luck to you
