I do not have dental insurance but I did go to a dentist that told me I need to have four fillings. This seems a lot to me since I seen a dentist prior to this about nine months ago and my teeth were fine. I guess any thing can happen in nine months but four cavities?
I would like to get a second oping but do not want to keep buying cash for everything. Could I get dental insurance then get a second opinion from another dentist?
My mon has some major dental work that needs to be done. Her dentist is so over priced. Even with the dental insurance she has her dentist is always over the UCR rates so that my mom ends up paying for most of the dental cost.
I think the dentist she is going to is ripping her off. He is over priced and always telling her how much dental work she needs to have done. Now I know she does not have the best teeth in town but think he is going to far with the work he wants her to have done. A coarse he only does the most expensive type of services as well.
My mom only knows him and hates to seek out another dentist evne though she too says he is very costly. How can I get her to see a another dentist. I just want her to have a second opinion and to make sure that her dentist is not out of line.

When getting a second dental opinion how do you know which dentist is correct?
So here is the story. Last year I was told by the dentist at the time that I needed to have a filling done on one tooth and to have a deep cleaning. So wanting to make sure I got a second dental opinion from a different dentist. That dentist said that I do not need a filling or a deep cleaning. Okay so I when to him for just the regular cleaning he said I needed.
Six mouths later he says now I do need to have a filling and a deep cleaning. He gave me a cost that was much higher then the dentist that I when to before him. This bother me so I when to another dentist for a second opinion. That dentist told me that I do not need a deep cleaning and that I do have a very small cavity on my tooth but it was too small to worry about doing a filling on yet. When different dentist tell you different things how do you know which one is telling you the truth. I do not want to feel like I got bate and switched. Which is how I am feeling. They tell me what I want to hear the first time then try to get me to do all this expensive dental work the second time I go. What is up with that?
