I would like to get either dental insurance where I am able to choose my own dentist and change my dental office whenever I want to. Or a have a dental insurance plan that has a dental network with many dental offices so that if I want to make the change I can without any waiting periods.
If I do not like a dental office I want to change. However right now with the dental HMO plan I have it has three dentist and I have to wait a month if I want to make a change to a different provider. I want to be able to get second dental opinion without this type of hassle
I live in New Hampshire where I just seen a dentist for the first time in over three years. I did not go in having any teeth pain but I wanted to have my check up since I was really past due.
I do not currently have dental insurance and had to pay in full which was much more then I thought it would be for a check up, X-rays and cleaning. Anyway the dentist told me I have three cavities. Two of which he says are really big so I should have them filled ASAP before it goes into the root and I will need a root canal done.
This seems questoinable to me since I have no dental pain with my teeth. Would not cavities hurt? Also the price he is quoting me is very high and I am not sure if since I am paying cash if he is not over charging me.
Could I at this point get dental insurance? That way I can go for a second opinion as well as hopefully have a dental plan that will save me money. Please advise what would work best for me.
I am 23 and my dentist is telling me I should have my wisdom teeth pulled in the next year or so before they start giving me any problems. The thing is they are not giving me any problems so why pull them?
Do you always have to pull wisdom teeth? Can a get a second opinion on this? I just do not see the point of pulling teeth that are not causing any problems currently.
My dad was told that he needs to have a large size cavity filled. He is not so much questing that but the dentist wants to put a $600.00 crown on the tooth as well. And that is the cost with my dad’s insurance. I never heard of having to crown a tooth because of a filling.
However the dentist is saying that the tooth is week and should have a crown so that it does not crack. He thinking he may be taking for a ride though so he did not commit to anything as of yet. I told him he should get a second opinion but he does not want to re due X-rays is there a way to get a second opinion with out new X-rays being done?
I have right now a dental insurance plan that maxes out at $1000.00. This year I had my dental checks and a filling done. Going back I am told that I really should have a root canal and a crown down but the cost is going to go over my max limitation which means I am going to have to pay more for the dental work to be done.
I can wait but then I am left waiting about five months. Is there anything I can do to help off set my cost so that I am not maxing my limatation out so fast? If not do you think it is okay to wait for the term to roll over then hope I will not need any more dental work for the rest of another year?
I have had this bad tooth pain on and off in one of my back to middle teeth. I have been going to this one dentist under my plan that tells me I have no cavities and does not see anything wrong with my teeth at this time. However good that may sound I still have this pain that comes and goes. Should I put up with it and wait or should I get a second dental opinion?

I have very little money since I only work when I can find jobs. I am like a handy man I take whatever odds jobs my friends or other people can give me.
I do not know when the last time I been to the dentist. I have be thinking about getting the dental work done in Mexico but do not really have a way down there either. Living out here in CA were dental cost is just to high for me to think about. I need help and advise on what I can do to get affordable dental work. At least to have my big teeth issues corrected.

So a few days ago I went to the dentist for a regural cleaning. I know it has been a long while since I last went in for a dental cleaning so I was worried about having a cavity or something. The dentist told me I did not have any cavities.
However, he showed me were my teeth at the bottom were stain up some from smoking. It was on the back side of my bottom front teeth. I though he would have scraped the stains off when he was cleaning my teeth but they did not.
The dentist starting checking my gums with the measuring tool where he said I had mostly 3’s and 4’s. and a few 2’s. He said I needed a deep cleaning which would cost me a total of $400.00 without insurance. Also get this having the deep cleaning still will not remove the stains from prior smoking. He said I would need my teeth whiten for that.
Does this sound correct to you? I am I being taken for a ride I can not really afford? Should I be looking for an second dental opinion on wheather or not I need a deep cleaning?

My mon has some major dental work that needs to be done. Her dentist is so over priced. Even with the dental insurance she has her dentist is always over the UCR rates so that my mom ends up paying for most of the dental cost.
I think the dentist she is going to is ripping her off. He is over priced and always telling her how much dental work she needs to have done. Now I know she does not have the best teeth in town but think he is going to far with the work he wants her to have done. A coarse he only does the most expensive type of services as well.
My mom only knows him and hates to seek out another dentist evne though she too says he is very costly. How can I get her to see a another dentist. I just want her to have a second opinion and to make sure that her dentist is not out of line.

Ten months ago I had a root canal done by this one dental office under my dental insurance plan. Now I am having problems with the same tooth. I have been in some really bad pain off and on. I went back to the same dentist under my current dental plan and was told I needed a retreatment root canal done on the same tooth.
That it seems like not all the root was removed or something. I am very upset over this. I feel the job was not done right the first time and now I am being charge again for a root canal on the same tooth. My cost for a retratement under my plan is still $78.00.
I only have this dentist in my general area and the next dentist would be at least an half hour drive. My dental insurance plan says I must see there dentist but by the time I make the change to the other dentist I would be out waiting for it to go though for at least a month.
Who should I ask for a second opinion? Should I just pay out of my pocket to see another dentist or just get the re-treatment and hope that they do it right this time.

I do not write a book about what is going on. Though I could easy ramble about why I do not like my current dentist. However I will try my best to keep this short. I have a dentist that did a root canal and put a temporary crown on my tooth.
He was very ruff with me and my tooth is still hurting. The dentist did the root canal two days ago. I do not go back for my crown until another two weeks. I call the dental office and was told that he would look at me when I come in for my crown that he can not see me sooner.
Where can I go for a second dental opinon on what is going on. I am not sure he really did fix my tooth since it still hurts. If I do change dentist will the crown I pay for get transfer to the new dental office? Not sure what to do since my current dentist is not helping me with my pain. They just say it is to be expected and to wait until my next appointment.
