Lost Retainer – What can I do?
I feel really bad I lost my retainers. I know that they are not cheap and I just don’t have any money for a replacment. I do not however want my teeth to get out of alignment either. Please advise would be good.

Dear CC
If you just lost your retainers try finding the retainers before worrying about how you are going to replace them. Just take a minute or two and think about the last place you seen them.
If it was in your room then carefully check your room. If you went out to eat did you take them out there? If so call around and see if they have them in the lost in found.
If you have any dog or cats, pets sometimes will take things and hid them. They normally will hide things in the same spots. Example my dog hides things under my bed. So what may have been on the night stand shows up under the bed.
If after you look every were you can think of take a day off and then do it one more time with a clear head check places you may not have the first time.
In the end if you still can not find them you will need to get replacements. You do not want all the hard work you done so far to go to waist. Call your dentist and see if they can make a payment plan for your replacement explain to them what is going on. They may be able to help you.

If you lost your retainer and can not find it. Then in my opinion you need to do what ever you can to get them replaced asap. Call your dentist see if they have a payment plan that you can manage. If you have to barrow money or put it on a credit card. Do not let your teeth go with out your retainer. If you do, all the expensive you put into having your braces may just go out the door as your teeth may shift.
