If a dentist had bad teeth would you trust him to work on you?
If you went to a dentist to have a dental cleaning, and while you are there you notice that the dentist has bad teeth would you trust that dentist to do a good job? I asking because this happen to me. I went for a cleaning and the dentist teeth were like all yellow. I was like how can he clean my teeth if his is yellow. Doesn’t that show he is not taking care of his own teeth. Yuck… I just left without doing the work. I told him I had a text that came in and that I needed to leave. What would you do?

Well I think that you came off a bit judgmental. Not everyone has naturally white teeth. That does not mean that they are not taking care of their teeth. I was not there to see the degree you felt was bad, but yellow teeth would not bother me. Maybe he just had lunch or a snack before.
Do you brush your teeth after eating every little thing? Did he have bad breath on top of the yellow teeth? I may object if the dentist teeth were black or his breath was really bad. You are lucky if the dental office did not charge you for canceling your appointment at the last minute.

Wow that was harsh. I have a Orthodontic dentist for my son. The orthodontic dentist has a small gap between is two front teeth. He is an excellent dentist and my son just loves him. If I judge him to be no good because of a gap I may not have had such a great dentist today for my son.
He did one day talk about his gap when my son asked him about it. He said he had it when he was a child and his parents could not afford braces. That was one of the reasons why he wanted to be an orthodontic dentist. By the time he was able to afford to have braces he felt as if the gap was a part of who he was. Since it did not cause him to have any dental issues he left it alone.
If it really bother you about your dentist having yellow teeth you could have asked him why. It may have been a little rude to ask, but then you would have peace of mind. In my opinion walking out on him like that was worse.

Hey there Megen right on! Forget about the other two replies I would have done the same, except for one thing. I would have told the dentist that I was leaving because of his yellow yucky teeth.
You think I go to a obese person for diet and fitness help. Heck no. Why would I go to a dentist that dose not have perfect teeth? That just plain crazy.

I am with the thought that if you do not like your dentist for whatever your reasons, then you need to find a different dentist. I do not see anything wrong with you leaving because the dentist teeth are yellow. There are I am sure many good dentist with white teeth that you can go to and feel conferable about them doing the work you may need.

In prior blogs I have stated that it is important to pick the right dentist for you. To check out the office staff, how clean is the place, how far booked up, how do they talk to you, are the friendly? If these things did not check out for you to move on to the next dentist. Well Yellow teeth falls into this same issues.
It is all about you and how you feel about the dentist you are seeing. It is best for both you and the dentist that if you do not like it there for you to move on. With there being so many dentist there is no reason to see one you can not feel happy with.
