Excruciating dental pain
I went to the dentist to day and was diagnosed with an infection where my wisdom tooth is growing. I was given antibiotics and was told there was nothing they can do for the wisdom tooth until my infection cleared. I have five days worth of antibiotics and I am in terrible pain. I wondering how long will it take for the pain to subside?

Antibiotics will help clear the infection, it will not really help you with your current pain. You may want to take an over the pain killer such as Advil or Tylenol, to help with controlling your pain.

It is common for a dentist not to do any work in an area that is currently infected. It is important to clear up the infection by taking your antibiotics the way prescribed to you.
If counter pain medicines are not helpful, call your dentist and see if they will prescribe a stronger pain killer.
