Getting braces removed
I am very worried about getting my braces off
So here is the thing. I am terrified about getting my braces off. I have them in now for about seven months so I still have a ways to go before they are removed. I am worried that I will have yellow and white striped stains on my teeth and my teeth will look bad.
I try to brush my teeth two times a day with a special toothpaste my orthodontist gave to me to use and I use mouthwash. I say try because there are days were my teeth just hurt too much and I do not brush them like I know I should. But that is not all the time. When I look closely at my teeth they seem yellow to me. I asked about using toothpaste with whiten and was told no by orthodontist. He all just brush your teeth better. What can I do to not get striped yellow teeth when the braces come off?

All you can do is brush twice a day every day. Your mouth may hurt but you still need to brush regardless.Get a softer brush. That may help with your brushing. You did not state whether you floss but you also need to floss as well.
Do not worry so much about what your teeth will look like after the removal of your braces. If your teeth has any stains a dentist should be able to whiten them up and have them looking great.

You do not want to use any kind of whiting products on your teeth why you have braces because then when you remove the braces you will have strips. Only for you in the reverse. That is why your Orthodontist said no to the toothpaste with whiten.
You need to brush and floss twice a day to help keep your teeth clean, but to also keep your teeth and gums healthy. That is why your Orthodontist said for you to brush better. Just stay focus on taking care of your teeth and gums. Any color differences you may have after the removal of your braces can be corrected by your dentist.

You should be less worried about what stains your teeth may have after they remove your braces, and more worried about taking care of your teeth health now.
By not bushing every day at least twice a day you run a risk of getting gingivitis or tooth decay or even both. There is no reason not to brush. If your teeth and gum hurt because of the braces get a softer brush. Try not to brush as hard. Your gums may in fact hurt because you are not brushing like you should.
Also like the other post do not forget about flossing. You can floss even with braces. It is important to maintain your dental health care with or with braces.
Good luck
