Tooth hurts after wisdom tooth extraction
Tooth pain after having my a wisdom tooth removed
I had a wisdom tooth removed just about four days ago. That went well and have no problems there. However, I am now having pain in the tooth that was next to the wisdom tooth I had removed. It is mostly when I eat so I try not to eat to much on that side but it is really starting to hurt. Is this common? Or do I now have a new cavity in that tooth? If I do will it need to be taken out too.

First really try to determine if the pain you are having is truly coming from the tooth. Since you just had a Wisdom tooth removed, your pain could be from the extraction site. Gums take a while to heal. Since you said it was the next tooth to the wisdom tooth that got removed that is hurting make sure it is the tooth and not the gum by the tooth that hurts.

It could be a new issue that is not related to your wisdom tooth extraction. The only real way you will know that for sure is to go to your dentist.
Just because a tooth may hurt does not mean they have to remove said tooth. If it is just a cavity they will fill it. If it is bad enough cavity they still may be able to do a root canal and crown. The point is dentist normally do not want to remove teeth unless there is on alternative.

Go to your dentist and confirm what is going on and why you now have pain in your tooth. I had a Wisdom tooth extraction and what happen was the my gums around the extraction site became a little infected. The pain from the infected gums felt like it was coming from my other teeth too.
The infection got caught fast enough that I only needed to take a few antibiotics to clear it up.

Man I can feel for you and what you are going though. I hate having toothaches. I would not wait to go see a dentist. Even if it is nothing it is better to be safe then sorry later on. Beside why deal with any pain when they can take care of that for you.
