The best way to avoid any infection after having a tooth extraction is simple. You follow the aftercare instructions the dentist will give you.
Most people who have infection problems after an extraction is because they did not follow what the dentist told them to do.
Good luck to you

My dentist gave me antibiotics after having an extraction. Just take them as told. Also keep your mouth and the extraction site clean. I would rinse out with warm salt water after every meal.
